Concordia et Ius is the Conciliation Body based in Palermo that operates throughout the country in civil and commercial mediation (Legislative Decree 28/2010) and mediation in consumer matters (Legislative Decree 130/2015).

When is mediation mandatory?

Mediation is mandatory for disputes regarding condominiums, inheritance division, family agreements, leases, loans for use, medical and professional liability, insurance, and more.

According to Legislative Decree 28/2010, the preliminary appeal is a condition for admissibility.

For consumer mediation, it is often mandatory before resorting to judicial authority.

How long does mediation last?

Civil and commercial mediation has a maximum duration of 4 months from the submission of the application.

Consumer mediation follows the timeframes established by ADR legislation, usually concluded within 30-90 days depending on the complexity.

Online Mediation (ODR) allows you to submit your application and documents entirely online, pay online, fill out digital forms and participate in mediation sessions via videoconference.

How to become a mediator with Concordia et Ius?

It is necessary to complete an initial training course recognized by the Ministry of Justice (84 hours for civil mediators). We offer online and in-person courses. After completing the course and passing the exam, you are authorized to register with the Register of Mediators.
